Injectables

Facial injectables are commonly used to relax facial wrinkles and folds, contour or reducing the appearance of a double chin and improve the signs of facial volumn loss by creating structure, framework and volume to the face and lips. There are different types of injectable procedures that improve various areas of concern. Uses of injectables include treating wrinkles, frown lines and forehead furrows, sagging skin, aging skin and aging hands.

Besides facial injections, intra-lesional injections are also performed to smooth-out and reduce the appearance of acne scars. Injections may also treat veins.

Injections at Medical Spa Club are only performed by our fully licensed physician.

Prior to receiving any injectable treatment at our Medical Spa Club clinic, you will have a thorough conversation with Dr. Pinkhasik. Frequently Asked Questions

Can I combine energy-based treatments with injectables?

Some treatments compliment each other, while other times they can cause conflicts with each other. For example, BBL and lasers can be safely combined with dermal fillers as no light-based treatments can penetrate to the depth of fillers and distort them. The time apart and the sequence of having different procedures together should also be in consideration.

To get a safe and efficacious combination of energy-based devices and injectables in cosmetic therapy personalized for you, book a consultation with our doctor to discuss your needs and expectations.

Do fillers last longer with botulinum toxins?

Yes.

A recent study shows using botulinum neurotoxin-A prolongs the lasting effects of hyaluronic acid (HA) fillers by reducing muscle activity in the treated area. Follow-up MRI scans confirmed botulinum toxins slowed filler degradation by 42%.

I have no idea what I need. What's the best treatment?

Everyone’s unique and your needs are very likely different from others. Therefore, there is not a standard “best treatment” guide for everybody.

Rest assured you are at the right place and in the right hands. We will be glad to help you every step of the way.

What's good about injectables? When should I expect results?

Cosmetic injection is considered a “lunchtime” procedure, as it takes roughly as least as 30 mins to have it done. Also, compared to most energy-based treatments, injection results are much more predictable and reliable.

Many patients prefer injections because of the readily fast results. For filler injections, results start showing immediately after. For botulinum toxin injections, it only takes 4 days up to 2 weeks for the full results to show.

How long do the results last?

Depending on the types of injections and your lifestyle, results can last for months.

For fillers, they can last for 6-12 months or even more. Avoiding sun exposure and get good hydration can prolong the results.

For botulinum toxins, results can last for 3-4 months. It is common for first-timers to notice that it may not last as long initially but may last longer after subsequent treatments.

Is It Dangerous To Get Injectables?

These injections are done using very thin needles so the discomfort is minimal. They are generally safe, and side effects and complications are minimal to none. Common side effects include: bruising and pain at the injection site, redness and temporary facial weakness or drooping. These side effects usually disappear in 1 day.

Dr. Pinkhasik has been practicing in Richmond since 1987 heading 2 busy family practice clinics. Our clinic in Richmond, B.C. has been using these injectables since 2011. The safety and comfort of our patients is a top priority at Medical Spa Club; only licensed doctors perform injectable treatments. Over the course of our history, we have never received a report from patients encountering serious side effects.

There are, of course, procedural risks, especially with inexperienced injectors.

Is there a down time?

None.

Cosmetic injection is considered a “lunchtime” and “no downtime” procedure. Therefore, you won’t have to take off work or school. You can resume your usual activities right after.

There may be a little puffiness or swelling, but it is usually negligible. Nonetheless, we usually advise people to give a week or two before major evens (weddings, birthdays), as Murphy’s Law is still in effect: if you do it a day before a wedding, and you are unlucky enough to get bruised, it may cause an inconvenience to say the least.
