Why Pumpkin Is Good for Your Skin 🎃
Published on September 25th, 2026
Pumpkin is a fall favourite, but its bright orange flesh contains more than seasonal charm. It’s a source of beta-carotene and other antioxidant compounds, along with vitamin C. Even its seeds offer nutrients worth knowing about. Here’s what these ingredients do — and why pumpkin has become such a popular inspiration for fall skincare.

Beta-carotene: the reason pumpkin is orange
Pumpkin gets much of its vibrant colour from beta-carotene, a plant pigment in the carotenoid family. Beta-carotene acts as an antioxidant, and when you eat it, your body can convert some of it into vitamin A. Vitamin A plays a role in maintaining normal skin and other tissues.
This is one of the reasons colourful vegetables deserve a place on your plate: their pigments do more than make them look beautiful.

Vitamin C: support for collagen production
Pumpkin also contains vitamin C. Your body needs vitamin C to produce collagen, a protein that gives skin structure. Vitamin C also acts as an antioxidant, helping protect cells from oxidative stress.
The amount of vitamin C in pumpkin varies with how it’s prepared, but it’s another example of how pumpkin offers more than just its famous beta-carotene.

Zinc: look to the seeds
When people talk about pumpkin and zinc, they’re usually talking about pumpkin seeds. Zinc is an essential mineral that helps support normal skin function and the body’s repair processes. The flesh and seeds have different nutrient profiles, so it’s more accurate to credit the seeds for this particular benefit.
Antioxidants: more than one colourful compound
Beta-carotene isn’t the only compound of interest in pumpkin. Researchers have also studied pumpkin extracts for other naturally occurring compounds with antioxidant activity. Antioxidants help counter oxidative stress, which is one reason they receive so much attention in both nutrition and skincare research.
So, what does pumpkin do in a facial?
The nutrients in pumpkin are a great reason to enjoy it as food. In a skincare treatment, the experience is different: the effect depends on the product’s full formula, not simply on the nutrients found in a whole pumpkin.
Our Pumpkin Spice Facial begins with a pumpkin enzyme scrub to help remove surface buildup, leaving skin feeling smoother and looking refreshed. We follow it with a hydrojelly mask selected for your skin’s needs and a cozy paraffin treatment. It’s our way of bringing a little pumpkin season into your skincare routine. A upper body massage with pumpkin lotion is also included in the facial.
