Skin Care For Men: 5 Steps Towards Healthy, Handsome Skin

Every wonder what you should do for health and handsome skin? Follow the following:

Step 1 – Cleanse

Wash your face every morning and every evening before bedtime. Just because you can’t see the dirt on your skin, doesn’t mean that it isn’t there. Everything you are exposed to on a daily basis like pollution, car exhaust, cigarette smoke, and even room deodorizers can land on your skin and cause damage. A good cleanse can help slough away dead skin cells that make your face look dull and prevent your pores from getting clogged causing breakouts. Find a cleanser that targets your skin type and avoid ordinary bar soap that contains detergents and deodorants that can be very harsh and dehydrating to the skin.

Step 2 – Exfoliate

Exfoliation is the process of removing the dead skin cells from the surface to reveal the new skin cells beneath. Our skin exfoliates naturally but, as we get older, the process of exfoliation starts to slow down. Exfoliating once or twice a week can help clean out all the dirt that gets clogged in your pores as well as help achieve a closer, less irritating shave by softening the hair follicles. Ask your skin care professional for an exfoliant product most suitable for your particular skin type and condition.

Step 3 – Moisturize

Men tend to need moisturizers even more than most women do because most men shave and every time the razor scrapes across your skin, you aren’t only removing facial hair but you are also removing necessary oils from your skin. Apply moisturizer on slightly damp skin to help seal in and replenish your skin’s moisture content and also help prevent razor burn. Try to choose a moisturizer with SPF to help protect your skin from the sun’s damaging rays which can lead to pre-mature aging, fine lines, wrinkles and skin cancer.

Step 4 – Eyes

One of the very first places we start to notice the signs of aging is around the eyes because the skin around our eyes lacks both sweat and oil glands making it highly susceptible to dehydration which can show itself as fine lines and wrinkles. Apply a small dab of eye cream every morning and every evening before bedtime and after cleansing under and around each eye to help hydrate, smooth and protect.

Step 5 – Lips

As we age, our lips lose collagen. Because our lips, like our eyes, also lack sweat and oil glands, fine lines and wrinkles start showing in all directions. Our lips do not have the same protective layer that we have elsewhere on our bodies and also lack melanin so they lose that extra protection against the sun’s UV rays. Choose a lip balm, preferably with SPF, and apply and reapply throughout the day
